General Fixes

2025-01-20T22:10:31

Maybe fixed the annoying issue with simultaneous pawception submissions. Also, fixed pawprints from private profiles showing up in more places than they should, and fully reworked how usernames display so private profiles don't have their usernames shown anywhere.

Various Fixes

2025-10-24T20:03:55 | 4 comments

- Added a default avatar instead of a placeholder, could someone draw one sometime that I could use? (gray, something to represent someone without an avatar)
- Fixed the create raffle button not showing up for Level 2+
- Login/register should now keep you on whatever page you were on instead of yeeting you back to the homepage.
- Requests now have a setting to require a user to be following you in order to accept a request.
- Fixed an issue where pawceptions weren't allowing enough words in a prompt.
- NSFW pawprints and flipbooks can now be viewed directly by the view URL without needing to be logged in after accepting a content warning, for sharing purposes.

Pawception

2025-01-14T18:52:33

A new collaborative drawing game, Pawception, is now accessible from the homepage or navigation bar. In this game, players draw and describe what they see, with anywhere from 6-12 unique players. Players will receive notifications upon a game's completion.

In preparation for adding e-mail features such as resetting passwords, new registrations now require an e-mail. You can add your own e-mail in the profile settings window, which I highly recommend.

While adding the e-mail to registration, I also reworked the login and register pages to be way prettier and added a footer to the bottom of all pages. Another change is in the avatar editor - it stretches to the window, making it easier to actually draw your avatar.

Templates Beta

2025-09-13T03:10:42

- New templates system. In a pawprints settings, you can set it to be a template. Anyone will then be allowed to copy it! This is a beta, some stuff might not work just yet. Remember, if you set a pawprint to be a template, whenever someone makes something with it, you will not be the artist. Only do this to pawprints you really don't mind giving away the rights to.

- The homepage now has a templates section underneath the pawprints to show the latest templates for people to play with.

- Profile pages have a new templates tab next to the scrapbook.

- You can search specifically for templates now.

Big tag update incoming, hold off on adding/updating new tags for a little while

2025-11-22T11:51:28 | 1 comment

Previously, tags were all stored as a single comma-separated line in each pawprint (tag1, tag2, tag3, tag4, etc). This made modifying them/editing them/removing them very slow and is not good for the amount of tags and pawprints we have.

I'm currently rewriting it to a new system (yes stuff will probably break) that will be a lot faster, and super easy to change tags. I only have tags up to about an hour ago saved into the new system so anything until you see a new update will not be saved.

Square Pawprints

2025-11-30T02:48:30 | 2 comments

When drawing a new pawprint (or nuking any existing draft), you will get an option of which canvas you'd like to draw on - 500x300 (normal), 300x500 (vertical), or 500x500 (square). These are the biggest pawprints you can currently draw, and gives you extra space needed for some more advanced poses. I'm interested to see what people do with this!

You are also able to zoom out slightly further than you could before.

Display Names

Join the discord here -> https://discord.gg/wpJ2qjnmJu

Usernames are no longer alterable (and all forced lowercase for consistency), and there is a new display name section in your profile settings. These allow for spaces and are what is shown to everyone, instead of your username, if you set one. Your username is still relevant (its what you log in with), but it won't change unless you specifically request me to change it, so any links aren't broken in the future.

Zoom/Pan Functionality Update

2025-02-06T16:30:17

- There is now a pan tool that lets you move the canvas around. This can also be accessed by holding space while the canvas is focused (e.g. you clicked on it)
- There is a button to reset zoom and pan to default, in case you lose the canvas or want to get it back to how it was originally.
- Fixed hotkeys working from anywhere on the page if the pawprint drawing window is there. You have to focus the canvas to use ctrl+c / ctrl+v or any other of the keyboard shortcuts.

Basic Fill Tool and General Fixes

2025-01-19T21:29:46

It's not perfect (far from it), but there's a basic fill tool available in the drawing canvas. It sometimes leaves anti-aliasing artifacts around lines but they should be much easier to touch up than how people were filling colour before. It might also think two similar-looking colours are the same thing but it's the best I can do for now!

Updated the index pawception game list to have a maximum, and default to 'in progress' games. You can view every single one from the standalone pawception page, but the index is meant just for a summary of the latest things.

Profile followers/following views now have a scroll bar to stop the page becoming unbearably long, and are ordered by most recent follower/followed user.

Hopefully fixed a bug where you can accidentally submit duplicate pawprints (if refreshing or lagging I assume), it now checks to see if you have tried to submit the same image within the last minute.

Various Tag Updates

2025-09-17T21:33:03 | 2 comments

Blocked Tags: I added a new setting under the blocked tags on the user settings page. When enabled, you will see SFW pawprints with blocked tags, meaning the blocked tags will only block NSFW content.

Tag Predictions: Tags on pawprint and user settings now has a dropdown of relevant tags, to make it easier to tag the right things.

Name Colours: Starting from level 21, colours have gotten a little more interesting. Users who reach this milestone will be given some fancy gradients instead of just a solid colour!

Levels Page: You can now see the XP required and colour of all the levels here.

Boring Janitor Stuff: Made the janitor tag page a bit faster, since we have well over 22,000 tags now the page was taking far too long to load before.

Profile Styling Update

2025-10-05T01:46:26 | 3 comments

Had an idea to shake up profiles a bit - let me know what you think. Pawprints now are more prominent, and you have a much bigger drawing window. I got a lil' old iPad to test out some stuff but it's pretty old so I'm not sure if it'd be exactly what you see, let me know if anything doesn't look right!

Styling and Bug Fixes

2025-01-11T16:22:58

More boring update today. I've made it so clicking on a pawprint will open a little window with a full-size view of it, and some extra information. While doing this I've updated pawprints in general to be consistent everywhere.

Fixed some issues where right-click was not erasing while drawing, re-added missing buttons to highlight and delete pawprints, and added notifications for anonymous and guest pawprints.

You can also now select from latest, random, and top for both pawprints and profiles on the homepage!

Rule Changes

2025-09-16T14:37:42 | 8 comments

Some recent content is no longer exactly just on the fence in UK law. Regardless of the site's location, I as the owner have to follow these to ensure the site's stability, and that means I'm going to have to start disallowing certain types of content. I would like to reiterate this is a furry site first and foremost, as such this rule has been added:

Coroners and Justice Act of April 2009 (c. 2), you may not upload content depicting minors in sexual situations where the minor represents a human child under the age of 18. Sexual situations include nudity, fetishes that may not feature nudity but are created to fulfil fantasies (for example but not limited to: vore, inflation, pregnancy), and explicit sex. This includes photography, drawings, stories, audio or any other medium of content. This rule applies to human characters.

The rule for NSFW tagging has expanded to also include anything that's an obvious fetish/kink (sorry underwear guys). Any content following short of this new rule change has been set to hidden and returned to the original artist to allow artists time to edit them and remove any.. humanity? (if you desire to do so). Any new posted content that breaks this rule will be deleted in the future.

Apologies for the inconvenience, this isn't a personal thing, I would just rather stay on the right side of the law to ensure this site isn't taken down or I get fined for something. There's a reason why InkBunny doesn't allow humans, but I'm trying to keep it as censorship-free as I am legally allowed.

Pawception Refactor

2025-03-07T14:53:16

Since some Pawception games have been stuck without new entries for a long time, I've made a change to how they work. You can now submit multiple times to the same game, as long as your turns aren’t back-to-back. For example, one player could submit a drawing, you could describe it, they could submit another drawing, and you could describe it again—allowing just two players to keep a game going.

This change is temporary and may be adjusted as the community grows, but for now, it should help games progress much faster!

Some Fixes

2025-02-17T10:43:27

- You can now search for users by display name instead of only username.
- Fixed the profile scrapbook not showing all pawprints in completed games and events.
- Fixed collection creation styling.
- Added custom error handling so errors are a bit prettier to look at and give way better information for me.

New Pawprinting Beta

2025-09-22T23:02:33 | 3 comments

I just uploaded the beta of the new drawing window everywhere you could draw pawprints. I recoded a lot of the old awful stuff that's been there since the beginning and tried to modernise it a bit - you can now close/open the tools and sliders, meaning the overall drawing window is much bigger than it was before!

I paid special attention to making it work properly on mobile/smaller devices, but as it's a beta, I'd love to know if anything doesn't work and what you think in general.

Extra Fixes/Changes:
- Made panning smoother. It shouldn't lag behind your mouse when you try to move the canvas around now.

Pawprint Refactor

2025-09-09T16:09:34

- Removed the feed entirely, it was slowing the site down and not entirely needed.

- Optimised profile and scrapbook pawprints to speed up page loading, there's now a 'show more' button instead of all being loaded at once.

- The way pawprints are viewed have changed, they now have their own page similar to e621 and FurAffinity, with a .png download button on each.

- Pawprint authors are now able to set a parent on pawprints, so alts/variants are shown alongside the 'main' pawprint and don't spam. To do this, pick which one you want to be shown as the main pawprint (ideally a SFW one), find its ID in the URL (it'll be a short number, for example 4868), and use the 'set parent' button in every alts settings to set the parent to that number. These ones won't show up in profiles or the homepage, but you can see all of them from the main one along with a handy visible number of alts. You can do this even if the pawprint is on someone else's page, as long as you are the artist. I have organised some already into parent/child relationships on my profile, so you can see how it works.

- Added 'notes' section to the user settings. This will display above the pawprint drawing on your profile, and you can use it to let people know stuff you like and dislike. You can see this in action on my profile!

- (potentially) fixed an issue with anonymous pawprints not being able to be confirmed if auto-confirm is set to off.

- Fixed issues with deleting accounts causing errors.

Referrals and Animations

2025-01-15T18:42:25

I've added a referrals system - in your profile settings window you will find a referral link you can send to friends. When signing up with this link (or writing your username in manually) it will increase your referred users statistic. I've also added a badge for referring a certain number of users :3

I've added the skeleton of a very basic animation system for pawprints, allowing some of them to record the drawing process and be replayed later. This isn't currently active as it's wildly inefficient, but it's a start.

Some pretty big styling changes; in Pawception I've added little badges to show the current game state, and also hidden the current turn entirely if you've already participated to make it more of a mystery. The index page has also been completely reworked, making the profiles smaller and giving regular members their own username colour.

In the profile I've added BBCode support and allowed new lines. You can now make 'em a bit prettier with links, colours and other stylings. There's buttons in the editor to show you exactly what you can do!
