Marking
2025-03-03T11:51:16
• Everyone starts with 10 marks.
• Marking a pawprint costs 1, which is given to the artist.
• You earn marks back by sending drawings to others.
This keeps marking special—only the best get showered with appreciation! Marked pawprints appear on your profile (toggleable in settings) as your personal showcase.
Zooming
2025-01-31T03:26:25
I've also re-ordered the pawception games list - ongoing will have the oldest first, completed will have the newest first, so old ones don't get hidden by all the new ones we've been getting.
Cropping Avatars from Pawprints and Fixes
2025-02-04T15:18:12
Fixed alt-tab causing colour picker and drawing to get stuck.
Drawing update

You can zoom in further than before, and it will show an accurate pixel grid to make pixel art easier.
The brush cursor preview has been updated to be more accurate.
General Fixes
2025-03-01T13:52:38
- Fixed custom website links not being able to be removed
- Added a rules page link to the sidebar
- Reworked the 'hide from feed' setting slightly, so now it also stops discord posts about your pawprints or guides

For janitors - we can add new 5 letter words in the janitor/admin panels. Try to aim for 'real' words that someone could reasonably guess :3
Staff Updates & Other Stuff

- All pawprints you draw are now put on your profile, even if you've sent them to someone else. You can hide them from your profile which doesn't delete them and you can return them back to your profile through the pawprint settings. This way you can always show off all art you drew and put them into collections without having to rely on the scrapbook.
- Statistics and avatar history are back, in your user profile. I've added a few extra stats too.
- You can now use NSFW pawprints as avatars, but you have to crop them in a way that isn't outwardly NSFW (a lil' nonspecific fluid is fine, but no outright genitalia or obvious sex acts).
For janitors:
- Janitors are no longer allowed to edit a user's profile that isn't their own. Honestly I kinda forgot they could do this and it should be an admin thing only. (There's only like, one active janitor that does any janitor work so this wasn't really used at all anyway).
- Janitors can now edit the tags of each entry in a pawception before the game ends, in case some tags need to be fixed.
- All staff can now delete the avatar of a user if it's a bit too NSFW and send them a message as to why it was removed.
Easier Parent Selection
2025-09-21T16:51:20
Also, a question: is the 'avatar mode' actually needed? Since you can crop any pawprint to be an avatar, I was thinking it'd make it a lot easier to code pawprint drawing if I didn't have to worry about also working on the avatar mode, as it's a little finnicky sometimes.
Notifications, Paws Ups, and Drawing Improvements
2025-01-09T19:53:18
Added the ability to copy and paste pawprints. The main reason I added this is just in case the site breaks, you can copy a drawing in progress and paste it into notepad to be restored later.
You can now stabilise your brush like in many popular drawing programs. This will slow down the drawing to make it easier to draw smooth lines. The value of stabilization can be changed at will.
Added the much requested undo/redo feature! You can now undo any mistakes. This may not fix a broken marriage.
Added the ability to embed your personal drawing canvas onto any website, letting people send you pawprints from afar. The link to this is in your own profile page.
Added the paws up feature. This is effectively a ratings or likes system for pawprints, letting people show just how much they like a drawing!
Styling and Bug Fixes
2025-01-11T16:22:58
Fixed some issues where right-click was not erasing while drawing, re-added missing buttons to highlight and delete pawprints, and added notifications for anonymous and guest pawprints.
You can also now select from latest, random, and top for both pawprints and profiles on the homepage!
Better PP Checking and Badge Stuff
2025-01-26T15:36:33
I made it so mods/admins can make badges directly from the site, also added two new badges - one for getting a first place win in an event, and one for participating in at least 5 different events.
Pawception Rules Update
2025-12-05T16:20:55 | 17 comments
The important change is describe, don't name. If you see someone's character, describe them, do not directly name them (this excludes maple as he's the site mascot). For example - if someone draws my raccoon Kalen, don't prompt 'kalen eating beans', write 'a raccoon eating beans'. Especially do not make prompts like 'draw X character doing Y action from Z obscure tv series', that is not what pawception is about!
From now on staff will be checking pawceptions and either deleting games or changing prompts entirely (instead of adding a second prompt) if they break these rules. Existing games are fine, but this will affect new games from now on. Let's keep it fun for everyone.
Avatars for ALL!

Suggestions Batch
2025-11-19T07:08:14 | 3 comments
- Updated the profile header to include whether or not the user is accepting art trades (adjustable in settings) and requests.
- Added a global and per-user cooldown to pawprints. 10 per day for now globally, but users can reduce the amount of pawprints from the same user per day in their settings.
- Added the ability for janitors to respond to user reports.
- Fixed an issue with your own requests not showing up.
- Fixed an issue where character avatars appeared as a broken image if the user couldn't see them.
- Fixed an issue where the old /pawprint link was being used instead of /view, causing issues.
- Fixed an issue with pawception drawings giving an error when trying to submit them.
- Updated profile navigation, it shows labels and condenses extra tabs into a 'more' dropdown if your window is too small for them all.
- Moved flipbooks, scrapbooks and drafts to special collections/folders in the gallery. Drafts are only visible to you, but flipbooks and scrapbooks are public by default (but can be disabled in user settings so only you can see them).
- Added a report button to pawprint and flipbook cards, that takes you to the postbox on the correct page with the link filled out already.
- Added more categories to each section of the postbox.
- You can now suggest event themes in the postbox.
Remixing

- Raffles now show your request message, and let you edit them if the raffle has not ended yet.
- Latest news / latest event now show up even when the community section on the index is closed, so you always get reminded of what's goin' on.
- Added name/descriptions to flipbooks, same as pawprints.
- Fixed journal notifications repeating the same message.
- Added tooltips to badges on pawprints to let you know what they mean.
- Added extra assurances to make sure people don't modify the canvas and send weird pawprint sizes.
Drafts
2025-09-18T20:10:51 | 8 comments
The solution: Drafts are now fully server-side, being stored in the database. It may take half a second longer to load/save a draft, but you do get to see a fancy lil' load/save spinner while drawing! This way you will never accidentally lose a WIP draft and it will always be tied to your account, not your computer. If you have an alt account, it won't load drafts from your main account.

e621 integration
2025-11-03T00:31:58 | 1 comment
This is completely opt-in, you control everything and your API key is encrypted so even I cannot see it.
I will like to say that e621 has quality control - it's possible lower quality pawprints may be removed, so use this for ones you're especially proud of and would otherwise upload somewhere else anyway :3
Comments Changes and Hotkeys

When drawing pawprints anywhere, you should now be able to use CTRL+Z (undo), CTRL+SHIFT+Z (redo), CTRL+C (copy) and CTRL+V (paste). Thanks to DrowsyPuppy for supplying me with some easy code to add!
