Character updates and other fixes

2025-11-05T04:22:23 | 3 comments

- You can now have up to 10 recent colours instead of 6, and characters can have up to 10 colours in their colour scheme. - Added new options for relationship status, age, if NSFW is allowed, etc. - Added likes/dislikes (can also be used for kinks if your character is more NSFW inclined). - You can now add multiple reference links, and mark them as NSFW if needed. - Added a new tool to drawings, allowing you to fill transparency - effectively erasing a section of the same colour. - Added a new setting to privacy in user settings to hide your name from the Furdle leaderboards. - Pawprints in events/pawceptions now instantly get copied to your profile once the event or game is over, as people seemed to be forgetting them a lot.

More drawing improvements

2025-11-04T21:56:45 | 4 comments

Something that's been bothering me for a while - you can now start drawing from 'outside' the main canvas, making it easier to draw things from the edges of the canvas. You'll see what I mean if you try drawing from the gray background behind the actual drawing canvas. Gonna be focusing some energy on improving drawing even more, since it is the main aspect of the site and all.

You can now select between square and circle brushes for both eraser and brush tools. You can zoom in further than before, and it will show an accurate pixel grid to make pixel art easier. The brush cursor preview has been updated to be more accurate.

Timers & e621 setting

2025-11-03T19:52:40 | 1 comment

In the user settings around the e621 integration section, there's a new checkbox to allow or disallow artists from sharing pawprints to e621 if it is on your profile. This way you can stop artists from sharing stuff that's related to you, like characters you don't want shared on e621. Pawprint.ing is an officially recognised meta tag for oekaki art on e621 now! Pawprints will also now somewhat track how long it took you to draw. This will be used for other things in the future, but I'm trying to include stuff that you'd find in older oekaki boards! I've also now included winrates in furdle, so you can see how many people managed to get the word.

e621 integration

In your user settings in the first tab, there's a new section for connections - allowing you to input your e621 username, API key (you can get this on your e621 account settings), and preferred artist tag. When these are set and correct, you will be able to share any pawprints directly to e621 in the pawprint settings page, assuming you are both the artist and the owner of it. This is completely opt-in, you control everything and your API key is encrypted so even I cannot see it. I will like to say that e621 has quality control - it's possible lower quality pawprints may be removed, so use this for ones you're especially proud of and would otherwise upload somewhere else anyway :3

Furdle

2025-11-01T05:32:21 | 13 comments

Got bored so I made a furry clone of Wordle. If you've never played it, there's a random 5-letter word you have 6 chances to guess every day. Orange means you got the right letter in the wrong place, green means right letter in the right place. Check it out here: https://pawprint.ing/furdle For janitors - we can add new 5 letter words in the janitor/admin panels. Try to aim for 'real' words that someone could reasonably guess :3

You can now edit/delete messages you've made, along with a few additions to your settings pages. In 'visibility' there's a new section for messages - you can choose who is able to DM you (everyone, friends only, following only, or no-one) and disable read receipts if you'd like no-one to know you haven't seen their messages!

Comments and DMs refactor

2025-10-30T06:56:50 | 3 comments

DMs are now a little more like discord - you can close conversations (only for you) and use bbcode to format your text. You're also able to add pawprint images using their ID (there's a button to add pawprints). In DMs and comments, you can also now use new lines - it's no longer all forced to be on a single line.

Custom colour picker

2025-10-29T00:26:33 | 6 comments

I've implemented a custom colour picker with hex/rgb/hsv sliders that should be the same for all browsers. The eyedropper tool may not work on Safari, but it lets you pick colours from any window on your screen. Also fixed an issue with fill tool needing two undo clicks to actually undo.

Suggested Changes

2025-10-25T02:00:54 | 8 comments

Pawceptions have been changed significantly, and I've added some new features to suggestions based on received suggestions. For pawceptions - you can now set minimum word count for prompts (default is now 5 instead of 10), number of turns between each user submitting a turn, expiry date (how long since the last turn submitted until the game closes by itself), if you/staff can end the game early, and the ability to claim drawing turns for 24 hours so you don't have to worry about someone else taking your turn. The default expiry is 1 week, so some old games got yeeted into oblivion due to inactivity already. For suggestions - dislike count is now hidden for everyone except for me, you can suggest stuff anonymously, and you're able to edit your own suggestions (until they're accepted/rejected)

Suggestions System

2025-10-24T20:43:14 | 9 comments

There's now a suggestions tab on the homepage. Here you can make suggestions and vote on others. I will look at this daily, and it's probably the best place to make suggestions if you want to. I'll be able to accept/reject suggestions and give a little note on them to say why. Sorry about the quick succession of updates, I was working on this alongside the last bug fixes but wanted to get those out sooner!

Various Fixes

2025-10-24T20:03:55 | 4 comments

- Added a default avatar instead of a placeholder, could someone draw one sometime that I could use? (gray, something to represent someone without an avatar) - Fixed the create raffle button not showing up for Level 2+ - Login/register should now keep you on whatever page you were on instead of yeeting you back to the homepage. - Requests now have a setting to require a user to be following you in order to accept a request. - Fixed an issue where pawceptions weren't allowing enough words in a prompt. - NSFW pawprints and flipbooks can now be viewed directly by the view URL without needing to be logged in after accepting a content warning, for sharing purposes.

Guest Pawprints

2025-10-15T19:58:31 | 7 comments

Back when Pawprinting was first created, it was inspired heavily by strawpage - the anonymous doodles people would receive, with little needed for the person drawing other than a creative spirit. Later into development, I scrapped the idea of people drawing without having an account due to the worry of spam or extreme/questionable content. With how pawprinting has grown, I'm ready to bring it back. In your user settings under visibility, you will find a new setting for allowing guest pawprints. This will let anyone, account or no, to draw on your profile - link people directly to your draw page from anywhere on the internet and they'll be able to draw for you anonymously or with a guest name they can set. They will not have drafts saved or loaded, but that's a trade-off for not having an account. Any pawprints sent this way will be unconfirmed, and you will have to confirm them for it to show up publicly. As this is opt-in and people can't just spam your profile, I feel like it's a lot safer to bring this feature back now. Another change I did is on confirming pawprints - instead of just a big 'accept' and 'reject' button, it now goes to the settings of the pawprint giving you the opportunity to change tags, make sure the rating is okay, or even hide it if you want.

Settings & Bug Fixes

2025-10-14T12:04:25

Changed up the user settings page a bit, it's now divided into tabs with some new settings specifically on drawing - you can now selectively disable drafts, layers, layer filters, and set defaults for new pawprints if you'd like all of them to be friends only for example. You can also easily enable/disable all notification settings. I fixed an issue with profile journals not loading, and re-added the ability to pan with the space bar.

Pagination & Various Fixes

2025-10-13T23:06:13 | 2 comments

- Added proper pagination on pawprints, scrapbook, journals, etc, instead of just the 'load more' button. - Drawing code has been refactored to be easier to fix/work with, which caused some of the issues today. - Fixed some pawprints from private profiles showing up where they shouldn't. - Stopped notifications being deleted automatically, and they now properly mark as read instead.

Who up pawp'ing their rints?

2025-10-12T18:53:22 | 7 comments

There's now a brush cursor preview when drawing just like in other drawing programs, to make it easier to see where you're going to draw. This should help a lot with things like pixel art. If it seems 'slow', it's because it's forced to the pixel grid, so there isn't that much I can do about it without it being inaccurate. Let me know if you don't like this and I could maybe add an option to remove it. Other Changes/Fixes: - We pink now! New logo/favicon/style. The brown was really boring and corporate so I want to try to spice things up a bit. - Layers can now be renamed, and don't get automatically renamed when moved around which caused some confusion. - Fixed donation tabs not showing up if you didn't have any donations, and also showing donations you've made instead of donations you've received. - Fixed eraser tool not having an initial dot, so you had to drag the mouse/pen in order to erase anything. - Fixed some older events not having set the winners correctly.

Requests Update

2025-10-11T16:12:46 | 4 comments

I've expanded the requests system a bit, it now tracks if requests have been seen by the artist, and artists are able to pin requests to keep them on top of others. You're also able to personally edit and delete your requests, and any you've made are listed on the same page you make them. There's now a lot more settings in your user settings for requests. You can now: - Add notes to show people who are making requests, can be used for likes/dislikes! - Allow anonymous requests (when logged in, you can check a box to hide your name when requesting something) - Allow/disallow editing seen or pinned requests. - Allow more than one request per user at a time. - Set a cooldown between requests, ranging from 1 hour to 1 month. I've also fixed some stuff with notifications, a lot of them now properly clear when you visit whatever the notification was about.

Remixing

2025-10-10T11:30:09 | 3 comments

- Pawprint remixing. You can now set your pawprints to be able to be remixed, allowing anyone to make alts/variants of a pawprint. It will load into a new page with all layers, etc. and always be linked back to the one it came from. You will always be able to make remixes of your own pawprints, making it easier to make alts of your own work. - Raffles now show your request message, and let you edit them if the raffle has not ended yet. - Latest news / latest event now show up even when the community section on the index is closed, so you always get reminded of what's goin' on. - Added name/descriptions to flipbooks, same as pawprints. - Fixed journal notifications repeating the same message. - Added tooltips to badges on pawprints to let you know what they mean. - Added extra assurances to make sure people don't modify the canvas and send weird pawprint sizes.

Flipbooks

2025-10-07T13:31:44 | 3 comments

Ever wanted to make little animations with your pawprints? Introducing Flipbooks! This new system lets you put together draft pawprints, change the timing/speed, and create animations. You can try this out with the new flipbook button on the sidebar, below the journal button. You will need draft pawprints to use (the 'draft' checkbox in pawprint settings or when drawing something) but I may later increase this to work with any of your pawprints, I want to see if it'd cause spam. At the start this will only allow up to 16 frames (you can use the same image more than one time, if you wanted a reverse effect) but I may increase this later if needed. Flipbooks will use all the tags combined of each pawprint used, a bit like how pawzzle tags work, and the rating will always be at minimum the highest rated pawprint used - so you can't rate it general/SFW if there's an NSFW pawprint in one of the frames. - Added the Flipbook system. - Added a Flipbook tab on the homepage, next to Pawprints. - Added a Flipbook collection on profiles, to see all flipbooks created by a user. - Allowed tag/rating editing. - Added an 'onion skin' selector next to where the parent selector is when drawing pawprints. This will set the background of the canvas to a slightly transparent version of whichever pawprint you select, good for animating. Other Fixes: - Fixed default collection not loading on profiles. - Fixed the bulk pawprint selection. - XP calculation has been optimised a ton so it's 10 seconds faster to run. - Text-only pawprints no longer show up on the homepage or count for XP, to stop spam. - Added new badge conditions so I can make badges for more things. - Fixed notifications for comments in flipbooks. - Fixed templates not copying.
