Profile Styling Update

2025-10-05T01:46:26 | 3 comments

Had an idea to shake up profiles a bit - let me know what you think. Pawprints now are more prominent, and you have a much bigger drawing window. I got a lil' old iPad to test out some stuff but it's pretty old so I'm not sure if it'd be exactly what you see, let me know if anything doesn't look right!

Friend System

2025-10-03T00:46:03 | 8 comments

You can now send friend requests to users. With this, pawprints and journals have an option to be friends-only. This is kind of a big system so I'm expecting there's some things I forgot to test, please let me know here if anything isn't working as expected. You can send a friend request from anyone's profile, with the new button next to the follow button. The recipient will then be able to accept/deny your friend request, you will receive notifications along the way (unless you get denied, no notification is sent in that case). Features: - Ability to send, accept, and decline friend requests. - Ability to disable friend requests on your profile. - Ability to set journals and pawprints as friends-only, so they can only be viewed by friends. - Ability to hide your friends list from your profile for anyone that isn't you. - Blocking will remove any friend status. Other Changes: - There are now view counts for pawprints and journals. - The tags section of a pawprint is a lot more organised now.

New Homepage

2025-10-02T02:57:09 | 2 comments

Got some advice and tried my hand at changing the design of the homepage to be more responsive. Everything's in tabs that can be opened and closed, instead of having a ton of different things you have to scroll for. Let me know what you think - I will probably add more to this later.

Raffles!

2025-10-01T13:30:33 | 3 comments

Any user level 2+ can now host raffles, with a lot of configuration! As of right now, you can set up two different ways to enter (each one adds your name to a pool, so having both at once gives you a better chance) - being a follower, or giving a specified pawprint a paws up and a mark. I may add more to this later! I've also updated the rules and about pages to include raffles and pawzzles. As usual, stuff probably will break, but I've done a bunch of testing and it works well enough from what I tried. Other Changes: - Fixed the rules page mentioning SFW/NSFW instead of content rating - Fixed dark mode styling on raffles - Fixed pawceptions not letting you create a game - Raffles are now ordered by 'ending soonest' first

Blur and Blend Modes

2025-09-30T01:09:01 | 14 comments

You can now apply blur, and change the blending mode of any layer. I've added a new section called 'Layer Filters' where the opacity slider was. This will save to the pawprint just like opacity and other layer stuff. This should work how other drawing programs do it, so you can make some fancy effects. I'm not sure if these effects will work on different browsers, that still needs to be tested! As part of the recent overhaul to pawprint drawing, it's been made a lot easier to do stuff like this ^^ Other Stuff: - Improved search logic so the site doesn't break sometimes. - Fixed copy/pasting. - Removed stability from Ironpaw mode.

Pawprints are like onions...

2025-09-28T22:38:40 | 30 comments

Introducing layers - you can have up to 5 (for now), each with an opacity slider to let you play with some new techniques that weren't possible before. Here's some of the details: - You can create, delete and duplicate layers. Whatever you draw will now affect whichever layer you have selected, much like mainstream drawing programs. - Drafts will save and load layers, so your drawings won't be accidentally lost. - Layers will save WITH the pawprint from now on, meaning if you need to edit it in the future, you will always be able to adjust individual layers. - Each layer has its own opacity slider, letting you do some neat effects. This is also saved with the pawprint + in drafts! - Copy/paste is now per layer, instead of the whole pawprint. - There's a new red 'nuke' button that deletes your saved drafts and resets everything to a blank pawprint, in case you wanted to quickly start a new one. As usual some stuff might be broken. Ironpaw users also will not have access to this system, if you do something is broken, pls let me know! Changes/Fixes after update: - Fixed shape tools not working correctly. - Fixed editing pawprints not loading properly. - Removed the extra layers panel button from the tools bar, I dunno why it was there. - Nuke button is now hidden when editing a pawprint. - Fixed some cases where you'd have no layers and couldn't draw until making one. - Fixed drafts saving when editing a pawprint. - Fixed some functionality not working on mobile devices (some buttons, dragging panels etc) - Added mobile fallbacks for sorting layers, there's now buttons to move layers up or down. - Fixed copying/pasting on certain mobile devices! - Improved how the tabs on profiles look, I hope.

Pawprint Update

2025-09-28T06:45:33 | 2 comments

- Panels on pawprints (that's the tool bar, sliders bar, and now the colour bar) can now be moved around by dragging the top of them. The X to close buttons have been removed, and the buttons that used to open them again are toggles instead. I think this is a lot easier to work with - similar to how an actual drawing program would let you re-arrange the interface. - Login/registration has been updated, it's now a pop-up window instead of a separate page. - Fixed avatars not setting properly, they were still trying to look for a rating for some reason, even though only SFW ones are allowed. - Fixed marking not working. - Fixed account deletions again, removing guides/updates broke it a lil. - Fixed general not counting as setting a rating when drawing pawprints, causing people to have to pick higher ratings. - Fixed searches not searching for partial tags (e.g. just 'maple' was returning no results because it was missing the '(xen)' part. Now it should work!) - Updated the header/sidebar to be a bit prettier. It's very subtle, but icons fit better on there now. - Removed admin updates because I'm using this journal now. - Removed guides, they weren't really used and I'm trying to cut bloat from the site. Would rather have a few really good and used features than a lot that aren't used and make the site look like a ghost town!

Collections Overhaul & Bulk Pawprint Settings

2025-09-25T17:36:40 | 2 comments

- On your profile, you can now select multiple pawprints to hide, delete, or add to collections. Click the 'Select' button above your pawprints gallery to enter this mode, then click any number of pawprints that you want to update at once. Load more won't remove any selections. - You can now set a default collection - this is the one that will show to users who visit your profile by default. Use this to show off your favourite pawprints front and centre! Check out my profile for an example of it in action. - Collections now have their own settings page with the button where adding a new collection used to be. This allows you to re-order, create, edit, delete and set default collections.

Pawzzle Management

2025-09-25T07:22:58

Creators of pawzzles can now remove the drawn content of any tile or even a claim by other users. This won't delete the drawn stuff outright, it'll send it to their profile so it becomes just a normal pawprint. You can also do this to your own tiles even if you're not the creator, so you can give up your tile claims if you don't want to finish it. Bug Fixes: - Fixed the notifications page not correctly deleting individual notifications. - Fixed pawzzles allowing people to claim multiple tiles but not finish any of them. - Fixed certain features showing up when editing an event pawprint when they're supposed to be disabled. - Updated discord notifications to show sfw, mature and adult pawprints that don't have specific tags discord doesn't like.

New rating system, whew

2025-09-24T21:16:18 | 10 comments

This was a long time coming and took a lot of work, but there are now 4 different ratings you can set pawprints to, and you can set the maximum rating you can view in your user settings. These ratings are: General/SFW - For anything non-sexual and non-fetishy. Mature/R-15 - Suggestive, fetishy, but not outright explicit. Adult/R-18 - Nudity, sex, anything that'd be in NSFW in the previous system. Extreme/R-18G - Gore, blood, non-con, scat, anything that'd give a normie a heart attack. I don't count clean diapers as extreme, but dirty ones would fall under here. Watersports is also more of an adult thing, not an extreme thing. Stuff is probably gonna break, let me know here if anything isn't working as it should. Things that need to be tested (if you're going to do this anyway): - Creating a pawception game, is it setting the right rating, and does the 'draw' turn lock it to that rating? - Creating a pawzzle / drawing or editing a pawzzle tile. Is it setting the right rating, and is it locking to that rating? - Are there any issues seeing the right content anywhere: for example, if a character avatar is Extreme/R-18G, does it still show up for users who have their max rating set to Adult/R-18? This is a big change, overhauling systems that were in literally on day 1 of pawprinting, so I'm expecting stuff to break.

Pawzzles & Bug Fixes

2025-09-23T18:09:14 | 11 comments

I've just launched the beta of the Pawzzle system to complement Pawceptions, another activity you can do on here. They’re basically collaborative mosaic artworks where multiple artists can work together on a shared grid canvas. Imagine a giant puzzle where each “piece” is a drawing made by a different person! Except instead of snapping physical pieces together, we’re building one big picture through everyone’s artwork. Creating a Pawzzle: On the left sidebar you'll be able to see a new puzzle piece icon. From the pawzzle index, there'll be a 'create pawzzle' button if you do not already have one ongoing. There's a bunch of self-explanatory settings, but the grid size is how big the overall pawzzle will be and how many pawprints are part of it. Once you've created it, you'll have to start it off with one tile so others can build off of it. Drawing: There's no rotation or parents in pawzzles, but you will be able to see neighbouring pawzzle tiles as you draw - so assuming you're not the first, you will easily be able to connect your art to others. Check my test pawzzle here to see how they can all connect: https://pawprint.ing/pawzzle/view/4 Bug Fixes: - Made the adjacent pawzzle tiles while drawing full opacity so you can properly match colours. - Removed the obnoxious hover effect on everything, it's now only on specific things. - Added the ability to change your password in user settings. - Fixed issues with special characters like apostrophes on the search page. - Fixed drafts loading/saving on pawzzles, also fixing them not being saved properly elsewhere. - Added more comprehensive checks for muted/blocked users, also adding pawzzles and templates to it. - Fixed some pawprints not showing the collections list in settings. - Pawzzles are now ordered oldest uncompleted -> newest uncompleted, then newest completed -> oldest completed. This is so ones in progress don't just get pushed to the back. - Pawzzles now merge together into one giga-pawprint when completed, and get given to whoever created the pawzzle. This is so it shows up on the homepage and profile gallery as a real pawprint! - Fixed characters not getting properly filtered out by blocks/mutes. - Fixed NSFW pawzzles showing up for users who are logged out. - Fixed pawzzle tiles not loading in tags when editing. - Notifications now have their own page, and live count changes are back. - Fixed some things showing up to guests when allow guests is disabled. - Updated how tags are set for pawprints, now much fancier and harder to mess up! - Tags now save/load with pawprint drafts.

New Pawprinting Beta

2025-09-22T23:02:33 | 3 comments

I just uploaded the beta of the new drawing window everywhere you could draw pawprints. I recoded a lot of the old awful stuff that's been there since the beginning and tried to modernise it a bit - you can now close/open the tools and sliders, meaning the overall drawing window is much bigger than it was before! I paid special attention to making it work properly on mobile/smaller devices, but as it's a beta, I'd love to know if anything doesn't work and what you think in general. Extra Fixes/Changes: - Made panning smoother. It shouldn't lag behind your mouse when you try to move the canvas around now.

You Spin Me Right Round

2025-09-22T16:12:49 | 6 comments

You're now able to rotate the pawprint canvas using the new 'rotate' tool button! Using this, you can rotate what you're working on by 90 degrees, letting you get better drawing angles, or even create completely vertical pawprints if you need to draw somethin' extra long. Draft saving should work fine with rotations, and as usual some stuff might be broken that I haven't quite found yet. Let me know if you see anything! Other updates: - Adjusted the styling of comments so they should fit more on a page before scrolling is needed. Temporary fix, will look into redoing it entirely later. - If a character is referenced in a pawprint, the character will be linked in the pawprint view page. - Fixed shape tools not working for some reason.

Easier Parent Selection

2025-09-21T16:51:20

There's now a fancier and easier way to set parents. When drawing pawprints (not in events or pawception games), you can click the big 'parent' box to set a parent from either one of your 20 most recent pawprints, or a direct ID if it's one you drew. Use this to easily group alts together! Also, a question: is the 'avatar mode' actually needed? Since you can crop any pawprint to be an avatar, I was thinking it'd make it a lot easier to code pawprint drawing if I didn't have to worry about also working on the avatar mode, as it's a little finnicky sometimes.

- Sped the site up, you may notice some pages are loading a bit faster. Let me know if you see any 'Bad Gateway' errors since this change. - Fixed recent colours not quite working correctly when drawing. - Fixed donations, they should work again. - Darkened the colour of Level 10 as it was a little too bright.

Drafts

2025-09-18T20:10:51 | 8 comments

The problem: Drafts were too volatile. Since they were saved on your PC in browser storage, clearing your cache or looking at it wrong could wipe it, which kinda sucked if your power went out and you lost something you were working on. The solution: Drafts are now fully server-side, being stored in the database. It may take half a second longer to load/save a draft, but you do get to see a fancy lil' load/save spinner while drawing! This way you will never accidentally lose a WIP draft and it will always be tied to your account, not your computer. If you have an alt account, it won't load drafts from your main account.

Profile Updates

2025-09-18T09:43:39 | 2 comments

I've updated the styling on profiles to be a bit less ugly in places. Also, they should be much faster to load as every tab is a new page instead of every single thing being loaded at once. Profiles were definitely the slowest page on the site, so it's a good start to generally optimising the site better. I may later allow a profile setting to change your colour to any previously obtained one. It's not high on my list, but it probably will be done eventually ^^

Various Tag Updates

2025-09-17T21:33:03 | 2 comments

Blocked Tags: I added a new setting under the blocked tags on the user settings page. When enabled, you will see SFW pawprints with blocked tags, meaning the blocked tags will only block NSFW content. Tag Predictions: Tags on pawprint and user settings now has a dropdown of relevant tags, to make it easier to tag the right things. Name Colours: Starting from level 21, colours have gotten a little more interesting. Users who reach this milestone will be given some fancy gradients instead of just a solid colour! Levels Page: You can now see the XP required and colour of all the levels here. Boring Janitor Stuff: Made the janitor tag page a bit faster, since we have well over 22,000 tags now the page was taking far too long to load before.
